I could care less if a customer gets mad about the time they wait. I own 3 quick lubes and we train our guys to do things right. Yes it is a Pennzoil ten minute oil change. But I would rather have a customer yell at me for taking too long than to have them yell at me because someone forgot to put oil in the car. People that are that impatient can go somewhere else I dont want them in my shops anyway. I have a system that one guy pits a car and one works under the hood. When each is done thay switch spots and double check each others work. That way 2 people touch everything on the car and it leaves with me knowing I am not going to get phone calls the next day. Does it take a little longer? Sure but I can tell you that the customers really love it. I havent had one person complain when I tell them what we are doing. And you need to communicat with the customers in the lot. Go out and talk to them find out what they want and tell them about how long it will be before they will be in the shop.

They need to go to Walmart's automotive bay. No matter what time of the day or week, they quote me 1.5 to 3 hour waite for an oil change job.

I'll have to see if they have any Jiffy Lubes in the North Dallas area - under an hour is GREAT !

Yeah I get real steamed cause my boss is on my case why the cars ain't moving....:-)

Sorry, did the quick lube thing for a while.. one man should take about 20 minutes per car.. 2 takes less, but getting in and out depends upon the amount of people working actually doing the work (top and bottom) as well as the amount of cars backing up..

10 minutes with 2 guys is normal.. but as others said, it depends upon how many others are in front of you...

Best idea for getting in and out quick is going to ones in the suburbs .. sometimes during the day about 2pm, usually work slows and they will get you out that quick...

If not, you can come wait an hour and a half for a inspection sticker in New Orleans (city inspects the vehicle for road worthyness..state law) in the summer heat.. They also finish in 10 minutes too... and there is no air conditioned "waiting area"

this is one of the times when being patient really pays off,but then i never go to jiffy lube,i own a repair shop, and do my own work, but i guess it would be kind of aggravating if you was in a hurry, and wanting to get out of there, but you just have to learn ,,that there are slow down points in life, and this is one of them, good luck,i hope this help,s.

I don't like Jiffy Lube anyway. They tried to sell me some additive for my oil saying my oil was very dirty on my brand new car and when he went to show me, of course it wasn't. I don't trust them anyway.

Sorry, had to get my venting out.

It's 10 minutes when you get into the bay, not 10 minutes from when you drive up.
