Both the same. Safer is the pill. When I was on the depo prevera needle for 9 months straight, it wrecked my hormones. I didn't get my period at all, so that put me into early menopause. Hot / cold flashes, memory problems, my breasts hurt so bad, that you could cut them off, with no more pain. Years later still hot and cold won't go away. Also can get thinning hair, that will last a life time. I complained to the company, and they just said, thanks for letting us know. Also this needle is given to men in prision who have sex with kids, it lowers their need to want sex with kids. Prisions let these horrible men out, if they promise to use this needle on a regular basic. The minute they are late for this needle, they go right away to pedophile children. This needle should be banned from females. To many side effects.

technically the shot is more effective....but the pill is safer.....the shot has horrible side affects..such as weight gain, causes weak bones, absence of periods or heavy periods, and infertility.....my advice is to not go on the shot.....it has serious side affects
