Recently (for me) its The Devil's Rejects. This movie is sick, you hear me! SICK. It's the sequel to House of 1,000 Coupes, but that flick wasn't as good. If not the scariest, its absolutely the best horror movie sequel. EVER.

The Excorcist scared the $hit outta me when I was young...but it is kinda funny now, but still, THAT VOICE!! Just saw The Grudge 2, and I did a stupid man scream in the theatre cause it spooked me a couple times. The Ring was really freaky when it came out cause it was the first of its kind, but now there are so many of those Japanese urban legend movies out there. The Others with Nicole Kidman was creepy and the twist was really good. I really don't get that scared anymore cause I think I've desensitized myself due to my horror movie addiction.

I'm with you i have never found a scary movie that has scared me either and some of the ones that the people have already suggested are lame in themselves.

"Poltergeist" came out when I was a kid and haunted me for weeks (pun intended). That movie gave me nightmares when I was a kid. The mood Carpenter created in "Halloween" has never been topped, IMO.

I know some people thought it was a horrible movie, but The Grudge terrified me. We won't buy it because while we love scary movies, this one was too scary to bring into our house!!!
