Why this has been on my mind is because of my own wedding. Me and my boy friend were living together and we already had a kid together. Well the government told us we had to get married to have rights to each other, for him to be seen as supporting me and the kid ( Its all a joke ). So I stared to under stand the gay marriage thing. They just want the right to love the person they love, and have all the rights to each other, me and my husband now have.

Not a single good reason I can think of. You stumped me on this one.
I see a lot of responses from under-educated people opposed to it. Are they saying that you should only get married so you can make babies? With that logic, let's just say no to birth control. If you are infertile, you should get divorced. And when you get old and unable to reproduce, you should get divorced. And last I checked there was a high STD infection rate among heterosexuals as well. Under-educated people out there, please help me understand your logic that gay people should not marry.

Where did you discover this, it is likely one of the funniest matters I have noticeable in many years. According to this I wager I should not be married, I did not produce kids, and by no means will. I hang out plenty of homosexual individuals, might be I greater verify to peer if Ive grew to become homosexual and did not become aware of it. Should I get up my husband and discover out if I have a concern I did not recognize approximately. Now sorry, I am no person's estate, oops, sorry approximately that, I do belong to my cats. Is that a concern Well, besides, thanks such a lot for establishing my eyes, I concept there used to be no motive for no longer having homosexual marriages, it is exceptional to grasp that there's real a motive at the back of all of it.

Why should gays be allowed to get married ? They love each other , great why marry ? To raise there kids ? oh yeah we cant have kids ! To get a tax break , well everyone should be taxed the same then , whether your married , single , gay , straight , black or white.
Ok so maybe a few want to adopt kids , well maybe two siblings want to get married too . Maybe some people want two spouses. We arnt going to change everything for .05 % of the population to be happy.
We have a lot of problems that need worked on more that marriage.
The whole purpose of marriage was to raise a family , it has change over the last fifty years. But that still doesnt mean that two people that cant have kids anyway need to get married.

There aren't any besides religion.
Too many believe, erroniously at that, that our laws are somehow based in "their" specific religion.
The fact is, they're not.
http://www.earlyamerica.com/review/summer97/secular.html
Yes, most of the founding fathers admitted to being "deists" they did not practice what we know as "Christianity."
Our U.S. Constitution guarantees the Freedom Of Religion, which in utility also guarantees the Freedom FROM Religion.
The state cannot establish or promote a state religion.
Christians have NO MORE say than ANY other religion regarding the free practice thereof!
Practiced evidence that our laws are NOT based in any specific religion regarding LEGAL marriage are as follows:
Atheists are Legally allowed to marry.
Murderers are Legally allowed to marry.
Thieves are Legally allowed to marry.
Rapists are Legally allowed to marry.
Pedophiles are Legally allowed to marry.
Inter-Racial couples are Legally allowed to marry.
Inter-Faith couples are Legally allowed to marry.
Large age gapped couples are Legally allowed to marry.
All must follow a few simply rules;
Both partners must be human beings
Both partners must be able to give legal consent
Both partners must be of legal age to give consent.
Neither partner may be related by bloodline to the other.
Nowhere does it say anything about what religion they practice, if any. Nowhere does it say anything about what race either partner belongs to or claims to belong to.
Nowhere are either partner required to announce their religion, past felony or misdemeaner conviction record.
Nowhere are either partner required to announce their "secrets" to the other.
LEGAL MARRIAGE has NOTHING to do with the religions cerimony known as Marriage.
NOTHING.

Sorry, but you can't always have what you want...
I think this is one of those cases ;-)
EDIT: I must admit that this "play house" thing is new to me. It's... creative. Yeah.. creative.
EDIT, take 2: Because three words in the traditional wedding ceremony don't work well for gay couples! Now that's a good reason if I've ever heard one. Although, I think I actually read somewhere that a lot of straight marriages have started to use the "Joined for life" line that was used for gay marriages because it doesn't make one of them sound like a possession... And you always know a person is right when their argument ends with "Because... shut up!"

I can't give a reason why not, but I can give you a good reason why they should.
It is a basic human right to love and live.
Even people with very low I.Q.'s can get married.

there isn't one, other than marriage and monogomy were fine when the life expectancy was 34, but not too realistic in this day and age.

there is no good answer except that the government is too lazy to figure out a new system to keep track of gay married couples and that the people in the supreme court are completely predjudice!
