Why do we need two seperate basketball associations? The girls are just as good as the guys, and some of the guys are just as good as the girls - so why not merge them? Is it because of the money?

It's kind of about the money and, because men play harder than women. I never said better, all I'm saying is that yous see these men sliding ten feet across the floor, do you see that in the WNBA, no. and plus it would be expensive to have four locker rooms (visiting women, visiting men, home men, home women). You girls may not like this answer, i'm sorry I think it's for the best.

I don't think its totally because of the money. In fact a stunt like joining them would bring in a little more for the league until the novelty wore off. The fact is that they could or would not merge them because the level of action in the women's games is realistically nothing like the men's games. You have the realize, not being sexist here, there is a difference between a pro mens team and a women's team. The WNBA has point guards just of 5-foot. If they were playing against a NBA player at the same position, he would be 6-5 or so. There is a 7-foot women in the WNBA and she is an oddity, where 7-footers in the NBA is the norm. If your really need the answer to this just watch a game from each league and see the difference, besides the fact the ball is smaller. Guys are run and gun with dunks and the women do lay-ups.

I guess next you would want softball players to play in the MLB.

What leagues are you watching? The reason they don't merge the two leagues is because the WNBA players wouldn't make any team in the NBA. Time for a little reality check the reason their isn't a professional sports league where men and women play together is because women cant play with the guys. If they could they would. They cant they probably never will be able to, if they could the Olympics wouldn't have mens this, and women's this it would just be swimming, and gymnastics. See its separated by sex because people realize guys are better than girls at some things and vice versa.

You have got to be kidding, The talent level of the WNBA is, at best, at the level of a Division 3 Men's Basketball team. The physicality of the NBA, the speed, the athletic ability of the Men vs. Women would make it a Joke. Please the PC world does not exist on the court. While you are at it, lets have the WTA Players VS. the Men in tennis, I am sure that they could compete (LOL).

We shouldn't join the WNBA and the NBA because lets be realistic the women would never get to play. I'm not saying this because I am sexist but because it is the truth. Women players are great but they cannot stand up to the men of the NBA, literally.

Sorry to say this but HELL NO. I am a woman but I know that the NBA is better and I think the best way for it to stay that way is for no merging PERIOD.

hahaha....sorry.

99% of the girls in the WNBA wouldn't be on the bench in the NBA, unless we were having a shorter 3-point/smaller ball/lay-up competition.

I'd like to see Sheryl Swoopes defend Dwayne Wade or Lisa Leslie box out Shaq.

Because the styles of play are totally different and phsyically women and men are different which can open up a can of worms if injurys come up. While I can see your point about some women as good as men and some men as good as women, there are just to many reasons to name why this should not and will not ever happen.

the girls play a bit of a slower more fundamental game than the men... and of course the guys would beat the hell outta the women...

it jsut wouldnt combine very well.. maybe for an exhibition game or two but not for good...

They are two completely seperate leagues and joining them would be too difficult.
