I dressed up like this in Junior High also. For my hair, I took a metal coat hanger and straightened it out. Then put an arc in it. Part your hair and then divide the parts in half. Put the coat hanger under the top of the divided part. Gather the hair on one side and braid it around the coat hanger, repeat on the other side. When you have finished braiding you can adjust the hanger in the braids to make them stand out.

Get stripped stockings, purple/black or orange/black. Make sure that you put some holes in them.

Wear hiking boots and get an old shirt or childlike dress and wear it over leggings or knee length workout pants.

Make freckles with a brown pencil eyeliner. Carry a big round lollipop. Remember that Pippi lived on her own without her parents (her mother died and her father was a captain on a ship) so she didn't keep herself very clean.

What you need.
Coat hanger for hair.
Red wig or koolaid for hair.
Long mis-matched stockings.
Jumper or Dress.



If you don't have red hair, wear a red wig with a pig tail on each side. Using pipe cleaners, coat hanger or wire for the inside of the pig tails. Put the pipe cleaners in your braids while you are braiding your hair. The pipe cleaners are to make your braids stick out! After you braid your hair, bend the hair/pipe cleaners facing out. Then wear a white apron with a fringe on it if you have one with any faded jumper or dress. Wear hiking boots or any boots and 2 mix-matched socks (any color). Wear one sock short and the other rolled up high, red makeup for freckles. Use our makeup recipe to make freckles.

You're definately on the right track with what you have so far. The most recognizable ways to dress up as Pippi are: 1. Striped socks that go up to the knee 2. Pigtails (if you dont want to use hair spray, braid your hair around wires-try a wire coat hanger cut into the right length-or several pipe-cleaners. This way you will be able to bend your pigtails into right position.) 3. Use an eye liner pencil to draw freckles on your cheeks.

I was such a fan when I was kid.

First you will need two different colored stockings/tights.
A pair of loafers with laces.
A pair of short overalls and a t-shirt with muli colors.
A red haired wig that you can make ponytails with. You will also need some wire to make the ponytails stick up.
You will need a small satchel. She always had one slung over her shoulder.
You will need a brown or black eyebrow pencil or eyeliner to make freckles
She also had a pet monkey but you could use a fake monkey.
