90-100 % of the problem in the middle east seems to be Israel's existance - The Arabs all hate them the Jews have lets face it moved into a very tough nieghborhood and are not liked .

So if Iran did either launch or sneak in a nuclear bomb and literally blew Israel off the map - would that stop the fighting ? Or would the Arabs turn on each other in the absence of the Jewish state?

And if they did manage to wipe Israel off the map what would be the world response after the fact ?

Would the world live with it and move on?

Would the world bomb the middle east out of existence risking the globes population ? Would there be any defenders of what used to be Israel ? Would there be any defenders of what used to be Iran and Iraq and so forth ?

What if ?

Why is it that so many confuse a hypothetical situation based on real life events with a wish ?

A scenario presented for thought is not a wet dream it is not a fantasy it is a scenario that may prove to be probable or better and the question is what do you think would happen there after not would you like to join into some fantasy of what it would be like.

What ever happened to the ability to think ? No wonder we are in such peril with a population such as ours

If they do manage to 'wipe Israel off the map', then I expect they would turn on themselves.

There is a tremendous amount of infighting between Arabs, even the PLO and Hamas can't keep their people from killing each other.

First off, if Iran did such a thing, Israel would respond in kind. Most war games that start out that way rapidly escalate (other regional conflicts go nuke too). So in a way, the end of the world as we know it could result.

But if Israel were not in the Middle East, do you really think there would be peace there? Look at Iraq, the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds are killing each other. I think if you removed the common enemy in the form of Israel, all the various factions and sects would go at it against each other.

First of all, it couldn't happen for two reasons: Israel would nuke Iran first at the slightest suspicion that they might be close to nuclear arms; and Israel is in it till the end of the world, according to the Bible.

Facts aside, I don't think it would create peace. Contributing to the tensions there would still be the continued problems of the US in Iraq and Afghanistan, Syria influencing Lebanon, Shi'ites vs. Sunnis, worldwide sanctions on the guilty government, and the nuclear fallout from the bombs on Israel.

... the US would move into their position and probably work with the remaining jews in the world to get them going again ... the US isnt leaving the middle east ... people that think that are sadley mistaken. ... at this point in time the "what-if" scenario with the US and Israel out of the middle east would probably see iran form a new persion empire up to at least egypt and turkey ... and maybe further...

A couple of problems here - from what I understand, Iranians do not consider themselves Arabs, but Persians (Iran used to be Persia) - If Iran destroyed Jerusalem, Muslim Arabs would probably get very upset, as they also consider it a holy city.

No. The Jews can not bring peace. Only the Palestinians can bring peace because it is only the Palestinians who break all the former peace treaties and cease fires. Israelis allow Palestinians to live in their land. However, Palestinians do not allow Israelis to live in their land. When the Palestinians want peace, there will be peace.

Lets consider how well the Iraqis are getting along, now that they are free to form a democracy!

Your proposition couldn't be more offbase. The only thing keeping the US somewhat "safe" is the existance of Israel.

if the arabs eliminated israel they would simple move on to another country like india or france. they are dead set on taking the world and making it total muslum. look at africa and the phillipines or thiland they are on the move like the comunist were before russia went broke. but if they blew up israel i think they would get a couple puff sent back at them from a lot of other countries.

I foresee that there will never be lasting peace in the Middle East. They just can not get along.
The Muslim is taught to hate all other non-muslims and that they should kill them. What other large religion preaches that???
