My husband was granted joint custody of our 3 kids.I was told by the judge that he does not have to give me the address to where he is staying, but he can take the kids Fri-Sun.providing ACS finds that it is a suitable environment for my kids.I am bothered by the fact of not knowing where my kids are for 3 days.As the custodial parent, dont I have that right? This is not a normal situation, due to the fact, that my husband is a mental patient suffering from Bi-polar disorder, yet I was told that he can keep his address confidential from me.

That is extremely unusual, but check the court order. Most say the parents have to keep each other informed of their place of residence at all times, and if they move, the information has to be provided within a certain number of days after moving.

I'd be bothered, too! What if he took the kids and didn't bring them back? Where would you (or the authorities) go to look? What if something happened to him while they were with him, (ie, an accident) and you had to find them? That judge sounds most unreasonable, and I'd appeal if I were you.

That is hard to beleive. I'd find out one way or another. If he's in the same town, drive around and look for his car. He knows where you live, so you should have the right to know where he lives. What if oneof your children call you one night because he's having an episode. If one of your children are old enough, ask them to at least tell you the street he lives on. I can't beleive a judge would do that.

i'd be so pissed! 1/2 the time the county workers do not pay interest because they have such diverse circumstances. I live to inform the tale them and make certain they comprehend me! I verify my account on line quite a lot daily to substantiate it really is precise. PUSH (Pray till something takes position). baby help is for the toddler besides, that is critical so make certain you get it. do not provide up even although they made a gigantic, huge mistake with the addresses. communicate over with a criminal specialist and be conscious what your rights are with regards to this difficulty. good luck.

Is there anyone else in the family who might know his address? I think it's dangerous that you don't know where your kids are at all times. The judge sounds like a numbskull. If I were you, I would do everything I could to find out where he lives, including following him when he picks them up or hiring a private detective. If he has bipolar disorder, isn't that dangerous to the kids?

It sounds like there's more going on here than what you're telling.

Get your lawyer to talk to his lawyer....just because he has joint custody doesn't mean you shouldn't know where you children are at all times.

I guess it all depends on the circumstances. If you have joint custody you both are the custodial parent. I think its weird and would fight it through my attorney.

I`m not "surprised", Seems our Justice system is bi-polar when it comes to giving proper protection of our little ones.

I would say NO....it is not normal..
and I would get the best attorney to fight this.
no one lets their children just GO...somewhere without knowing where they are...
what happens...if something happens?
then what...?
I would contact an attorney tomorrow..fast as you can..

good luck

They both have to know each others information. Take him to court and you'll find out every thing.

So go back to your lawyer and tell him you don't like this situation. That's something for your lawyer to fix.
