I feel rushed and its rude, so they get less of a tip.

It's funny how some think that a waitress/waiter would WANT to do something that would lessen their tip. Unfortunately I too had felt like that BEFORE I worked in a restaurant where it was POLICY that we put the bill down at the edge of the table once the main course was served. After that I had to learn how to polity explain to many why that was what was done. In hopes that the table didnt feel offended, cause why would I want to have my tip taken away if I deserved it?

That does not bother me because a lot of restaurants do that so I'm used to it. I guess they want you to decided how to pay for it before you get to the check out counter. I had to bum 2 dollars off my children a couple of times if I was short on money especially for the tip. One day my son an I went somewhere to eat and was not full so we ask for a bowl of grits and she just
added it to the bill in front of me. I would rather know the price
before I checked out so there is no oops not enough money to
pay for it. So will it be cash or credit.

It's rude but I don't mind if they explain it (once in a while a waitress will come up and say she's done with her shift, so can she brings the bills right away - I don't have a problem with it in that case).

At first I feel rushed and then I wonder if it's too late to order dessert and I look around and wonder if she was just busy, or that was a good time to give me the ticket, and then reality sets in and it doesn't really matter. I figure the sooner I've got the check the sooner I can leave if the kids start getting crabby.

I have waited tables before where you had to drop the check as soon as they got there food. I didn't like it and felt as though I were rushing them out of the restaurant.

I feel she is tying to get me out of there to get someone else in my table so she can earn more tips. Little does she know she just cut her tip in half.
