The sound waves caused by the rumbling of the roads and things around it causes sounds, which travel to your ear, while the vibrations are also waves which travel from the road, through the ground until it hits a certain point, which in this case, would be you. If a deaf person was to be at a certain distance close to the road, they would be able to feel the vibration and imagine the truck to be loud, because sound waves can also cause a phisical force to react upon you.

The waves travel from the truck to you. The truck's waves permit a frequency which determines how high piched the trucks engine is. The vibration is also waves of a different type. The bigger the wace, the bigger the vibration.

So basicaly, if you want to feel and hear it, get next to it stick yur ear on the ground and I bet you you will fell it. 100% ;)

Sound waves.....all sounds are transported to our ears as waves or vibrations. The lower the sound the slower the vibration and conversely the higher the sound the faster the vibration.

A heavy truck causes the ground to vibrate also so that the vibration is felt more obviously.

The waves emitted by the truck as it goes by enters the medium of the air, causing you to hear it once the waves hit you. The reason you feel it is because the same waves enter the medium of the ground and the vibrations meet your feet.

It's because the air pressure is moving so fast, that it causes a loud rumbling sound. This happens when two vehicles are moving at a high speed.
