Yes, black is a very unstable color in goldfish.

It is not normal. I have a Black Oranda she has little gold on her belly to get is going to die soon.

Unfortunately yes. Most black orandas and black moors will do this. There is no known way of restoring the original colour or slowing down the process, and nobody seems to know what causes it.

yes all black orandas do this but they look very attractive as a gold fish aswell

I have been told by someone that breeds fish that the reason they turn gold is because they have no need to be camouflaged as they are not under threat and so feel comfortable and turn gold.

I know that a lot of ornamental pond fish change colour. Ask at your local Aquatic centre for advice about feeding - your fish may need something special.
For example, flamingos are pink because of their food, but without it, they revert to white.

It is normal and all goldfish, when born, are black. Some will retain this coloration and some will loose it when they begin to age. It is based largely on genetics.
