Hamas was elected through a democratic election. Why doesn't the U.S. support them if they were elected? I thought the U.S. wanted democracy or do they want the government of their choice?

(This question does not reflect my attitudes towards Hamas.)

You can support the democration process and not like the victor. That happens in America as well. Not everyone likes and supports the one that wins the political race. That does not mean we do not respect the democratic process.

i'm hoping you do understand that a dictatorship could be greater benevolent than a democracy. Please tell me you recognize this. Dictatorships could be greater attentive to the desires of the persons besides as greater consistently merely and egalitarian. there is not any written rule everywhere interior the international that asserts dictators might desire to be tyrants. That being stated, statistic demonstrate extremely the alternative - hence the want for democracy or a shape no less than. My element is that the project would not lie with the dictatatorship, yet with the dictator. guy is corruptible and hence, is all too usually corrupted. yet then, guy isn't purely corruptible, yet additionally corrupting. No corporation created via guy has ever lasted better than a pair of generations without being corrupted via guy. And that comes with our very own democratic republic.

That's a good question. And what about Hezbollah in Lebanon? Bush was the one who insisted those Lebanese elections go forward, even though his advisors TOLD HIM Hezbollah would likely gain some power. He decided that was better than supporting a CLINTON PROPOSAL that Lebanon disarm Hezbollah before elections would be allowed!
