I would say a pacifist doesn't even attend the meal.

I am a pacifist. I try to bring peace to all around me. There are some situations that defy all efforts to calm and pacification. Examples would be Hitler's holocaust, Stalin's genocide, and Saddam's murder of the Kurds. These situations may require pacification through elimination.
I prefer to use words, and will even take the first blow in a confrontation sometimes. But I sleep with a .45, and have a 12-gauge in the closet. Peace CAN be achieved through higher firepower.

A pacifist is someone who always thinks war or even limited military action is wrong. There are many groups of people who have historical ties to Pacifism. . . the Quakers that settled Pennsylvania were pacifists for several months until they were attacked by French backed Indian tribes.

A pacifist by definition is someone who has an opposition to war or violence as a means of settling disputes; specifically : refusal to bear arms on moral or religious grounds. But I am pretty sure they could and would defend themselves should it come down to it. I'm just sure it wouldn't be there 1st choice.
So the answer is pretty much no.GOOD LUCK, hope I helped.

No, it's somebody who suggests ducking as an appropriate measure, rather then getting out an AK-47 and machine-gunning the perpetrator and 27 other people as "collateral damage"

Do not confuse an unwillingness to fight a war with an unwillingness to defend one's self in an assaultive attack.
