I opened an account over 1 month ago. The emails about how to access my money made zero sense and they never mailed my my login info despite calling twice to make sure they had my home address right. Finally, I got fed up and closed my account which they botched as well. PLUS they wanted to take away my interest and charge me $25 termination fee! I feel like I sent my money to some ponzi scheme in nigeria! Chime in if you had a bad experience. Good experiences are welcome as well....but I'd never recommend this bank to anyone. I am moving my business elswhere.....

How about this? They sent me a credit card statement for a card that I never requested or received. The credit limit was $250 and the annual fee was $59. And they billed me for the $59. I called them and told them I never requested the card and I had not received the card and asked them what kind of idiot would want a credit card with a $250 limit and a $59 annual fee? If you never used it at all, in 3 years after they add the interest, you would be maxed out !!!!! After speaking to four different people, they finally agreed to cancel the account and waive the fee. I have since moved my account to another bank.

I opened an account four months ago and it has worked quite well. The interest rate is higher than any other bank that i am aware of. I have transfered funds between my local bank and HSBC several times without any real issues. The only problem is that it takes 3-4 days for money to show up in the other account. Sorry about your problems with them.

Hate to disappoint you but ours opened and operates without a hitch. There was some complications about the opening that took some close attention, however.

go with MetLife Bank www.metlifebank.com

Their rates on CD's and savings seem to be higher. I have been using them for about 2 years now.
