How old are you? What are your views about it? If you are currently a 20 or under and in college, do you drink. If you are 21+ did you drink alcohol when you were under 21?

Currently I am 19 and a Sophmore.

I am usually the designated driver of my group of friends which I don't have any problem with. I don't really have a problem with kids 18-20 drinking as long as its not excessive and they don't drive while under the influence.

I am also trying to start a Designated Driver program at my college where I can have people call me to come pick them up if they are drunk. I just don't know how to get it started or who to call. Any ideas?

That is a very cool gesture by you. Why not post it where people check for jobs, roomates, etc...You could do one where you have a bunch of pull off phone #'s. Then once you get that started, make up some free business cards at VistaPrint.com...no kidding they are free, just pay postage and handling. Perhaps include an seperate email account on the card and set some special rules for Friday and Saturday nights, like create a scheduling software. As for my drinking at that age, Yes it was out of control, mixed with pills, cocaine and pot. I am away from all of that a good long time ago, I am 42 now, so you can guess some of the scrapes I had gotten myself in, I did not quit the bottle until 35...so, as far as my approval goes, not so much, but people are gonna do it anyway. I like the idea of your service, a car is a 2000 lb weapon in the hands of a drunk/loaded individual. Good luck to you! Dana if you wish to chat further, here is my email addy: dankesheon@yahoo.com. You go girl!

I'm 22, I drank while under 21, I was responsible about it, and I never drove after I had drank. I don't drive now after more than two drinks and even then not if I haven't had some time after consuming the last one.

Usually, at your college there is some procedure that you have to follow to start a new student organization. Go to your student affairs office or the equivalent, and they should at least be able to point you in the right direction.

i do no longer drink underage yet i think of the government could exchange some thing the two the ingesting age or the age to flow into the army by way of fact how come an 18 year previous toddler can flow into the army yet cant have a bear after he in simple terms watched somebody get shot? So i think of i might exchange the age to 21 to be waiting to flow into the army.

wow thats a great idea. i dont underage drink and i dont plan on it- not because im extremely morally opposed but because 1. beer is GROSS and 2. i dont want to ruin my chances for a good college/future and dont want to be responsible for any accidents. however, because people do underage drink without caring who they may hurt in the process, having a designated driver program is a wonderful idea not to support underage drinking by giving kids a way out but to protect all the innocent people who are killed each year by drunk drivers. hand out fliers to get it started or just spread it by word of mouth so no teachers hear-the underground works wonders. good luck!

You have a very good idea with the D.D Program I don't see any reason why your councilors of dean would object.
