Why are bums so lazy?

A number of reasons, many of them practical ones. Poor health, especially from being out on the streets. No place to live. Poor eating habits, when they are lucky enough to locate food. Also, many "bums" have no money to buy the simplest of things you and I take for granted, such as milk, bread and toothpaste. What happens that looks like laziness, is poverty and increasingly low self esteem that lead to further neglect and problems. Many "bums" look lazy, but what you are looking at is a man who has lost his feeling of self-worth. If you ever want to lift such a human being up a lot, just treat him with respect. A little bit of respect goes a long way toward turning another person's life around. Imagine sleeping overnight outdoors on some cardboard or going without food, and it would seem reasonable that maybe your own energy would fail a little, and you might just get weary of it all. I hope this provides a little understanding about why the "lazy" thing seems to stand out so much. Many men give up because they stop seeing the possibility to save themselves. Many others of them simply need to find work, so they can get their self-respect back again. - Chris.

Well they wouldn't be bums if they were not lazy would they? Nah but seriously, some people fall on hard times. End up on the street where you can't even get a decent meal let alone a shower and nice clothes. You couldn't even get a job at McD's looking like that. So what are they suppose to do? You can blame it all on drugs or alcohol. Some might be there for that very reason. Some may not do it at all. Some might have started just because, again, what else are they suppose to do. Like getting 10 bucks from strangers, if even, might get them what? A hot meal? Couple items from a dollar store? Maybe some warm mittens so they don't freeze their *** off?

I don't know if I would call it lazy, but maybe a loss of hope, which to us appear as laziness. I use to think that they were lazy also until God told me to pick one up. He stayed with me for 6 months and became manager of my stores. He was the hardest worker I have ever had to work for me. He made me a lot of money. This is when I realized that it is about a persons state of being that makes them act the way they act. Skip(the old bum) is my best friend and he has taught me a lot and for that he will never have to want for anything. STAY MOTIVATED

What about those who're not lazy bums? in basic terms hit a bump contained in the line and want help? might want to we push aside the thousands of deserving human beings for the few not worthy? no, we won't be able to attempt this- we ought to assist those that want it and deserve it, notwithstanding if it skill some not worthy fly less than the radar. in case you grandmother might want to not arise with the money for clinical interest, yet quite needed it- would you not want her to recieve care- regardless? or would you've this ideas-set?

That's a generalization, I saw some homeless people actively gathering empty pop cans or scrap metal for recycling which they get paid for. There are some that use their musical talent and entertain people on the street.

because they feel as though they should not be held accountable to the same responsibilites that the rest of us are because of something tragic that happened to them earlier in their life. Therefore they need no job, need no responsibility, simply roam around society, take what they can get for free, and mooch off the greater good of society!

Because they're bums, all they do is drink, smoke with the money you give them, thats why I don't ever give em my money
