I have a serious proscratination problem also, I have a mega amount of homework to do too, including three papers to right and as you can see I am answers right along with you. But the good news is i did get some work done, what I did to get started is take out all the things such as books, notes ect to get started, I then laid them out on the table and went and made myself a little snack, a sandwitch to be exact, and a big cup of juice, after i finished eating than stretched and took deep breaths for 10 minutes and then opened up my book, move away from the TV to an area you can get work done, like at a table or office area, turn off the phones. I got quite of bit of work done, although not all. My work is due on the 7th so I have a little more time than you, try what I said and good luck.

Ok, I'm not too good in science, but I can give you a hints on how to stop procrastinating. I am a HUGE procrastinator myself.

1.) Set a time each day to do your homework or work on projects. Stick to this EVERY DAY. Just think of it as an appointment. Even if you don't have any homework on this day, try to read a little bit or just study.

2.) FORCE yourself to work. Tell yourself "I won't turn the TV back on until I get this done!" Or you could do the same thing with the computer, or whatever you like to do.

3.) If you have trouble paying attention in class, just think about this: "Do I want to listen in class now for one hour, or spend hours trying to learn it at home?"

4.) I reccomend that you do not go over 1 hour without taking a break. If you just work straight for hours, you will get so burnt out and the quality of your work will decrease. Take at least a 5 minute break every 45 minutes or so, but at the most take a 15 minute break.

If you follow these steps and work on your projects EVERY DAY it will definitly help you, and you'll be suprised at how much free time you have! I was a huge procrastinator, but since I made a schedule for myself I usually get my work done.

start on the packet and do not stop unless you need to eat a real meal (like dinner) or go to the restroom. Make this your number one priority. Do little of each page and this will help you cover the majority of the material rather than trying to cram all those measley details that dont help you get the big picture (also crammiing can cause you to forget a lot). The periodic table is not that hard. Print out an article on wikipedia and you will be ok. Here is the link if you need it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodic_table

i procrastinate too, in fac t when i was in fifth grade i had to do a science fair project the day it was due, but anyway try to find the answers in your book and write down certain info of what you think might be on the exam and put it on notecards and study that info too, as well as what is in the book.
also look up periodic table on the internet, im sure there is a lot of stuff about it
definitely know who created it ( which is Dmitri Mendeleev, this is not a typo)

oh and one more thing...

if this is due on nov. 1, then why are you on the computer?

When I was in college I used to write 20 page papers in 1 night. You have plenty of time. Just find a quiet place with no distractions and get it done. Find the answers you need in your textbook or on the internet (last resort, cause its a distraction).

You can definitely do it if you buckle down and concentrate--you still have plenty of time.

Next time, concentrate in class and take notes. If you have to be there anyway, you might as well get something out of it. Otherwise you're wasting your own time as well as the teacher's. If you lock in, take notes, and ask questions the class will go faster as well.

Don't be aftaid to ask your teacher, parents, or family members 4 help. I have the same problem now, and my mom is helping me manage my time better.
So, jsut like ASK! IF u ask, it'll help u "cure the problem + stop this from happening agian" (quote from what my mom said 2 me).
I really can't think of any other way to memorize a bunch of stuff in like a week. Sorry, but good luck!

Welcome to the world of ADHD......

You do not have much time have you thought about talking to your teacher? Explain to him/her not being able to concentrate in class? Asking very politely that you need more time and you understand you did wrong by procrastinating?
Communication sometimes is very benefitial....

If this is a ongoing problem you may want to get checked out by someone. Procrastination in the olden days was said to be a bad habit.... It is a lack of concentration and not finishing what one starts (or not starts). Stimulation is what drives some of us, those tasks that are boring will get set aside.....

Stupid, doubt you are stupid.....

STOP procrastinating right now and take the first step to improve the situation. You're on the internet, get researching on the subject and study study study. You'll get there. Good luck.
