They say around 20 weeks or so that a fetus can actually hear and begin to identify certain voices. You can sometimes tell by their movement that they are aware of certain voices....my daughter used to squirm when she heard my hubby's voice, especially at night when all else was quiet.. I don't know how many weeks along, but they do hear voices and all other noises in your world. That's why when baby get home, don't try to keep things too quiet. That would be strange to them and may hinder their sleep. Since baby can hear in the womb, that is why they say to play classical music because it stimulates brain growth. Talking to baby while in the womb eases the baby and they recognize your voices after they are born. Just the sound of your voice is soothing to baby.

I agree with Jillian J. My baby also tends to pick up on my husband's voice. I am 19 weeks and I just started noticing the baby move when my husband talks or even sometimes when my dog is close to me and barks. Congrats.

Month 6- Your baby may respond to sounds by moving or increasing the pulse, and you may notice jerking motions if baby hiccups.

I believe around 3 months they start to be able to hear. and at 5 or 6 months they are able to respond to sounds.

yes the baby can hear voices, I believe when the baby is in the 5th month....

yes! they can hear probably around 4-5months and another niffty fact is that probably around the 8th month if you were to put a flashlight up against your stomache they can see the light and follow it.

once the baby is about 4 weeks old, it can hear everything you say. He/she can pick up anything you say. So be very careful of waht you say!!!!!!!!!

I heard they can but I'm not sure how far along you have to be. It's probably as soon as they develop their ears.
