Most people buy tickets in advance of the game. Many fans purchase season tickets. If the game is not sold out, tickets are available for purchase at the game. The crowds are mostly fans supporting the home team. Probably more than have of the fans attended the college. The fans get excited when their team does well. Most people enjoy the experience of being at the game and therefore have a measure of enjoyment even if their team loses.

You can either buy them at the gate or in advance. The crowd is usually going crazy and cheering or booing from the plays that happens on the field.
