Yes, I have done so. There are two basic kinds of tile cutters, and one of them has a wheel that is basically identical to that on a glass cutter (the other kind generally has a very hard abrasive like carbide or diamond). To cut ceramic tile, score the glazed side (the side that will be seen when the tile is installed) once with the tile or glass cutter (press down hard, but not hard enough to break the tile). Then snap the tile after it is scored. It isn't always easy, so be prepared to break a few tiles until you get the hang of it, and then one occasionally even after. It is, however, possible to do, and I have a renovated bathroom to show for it. Good luck!

It'll score the tile. A tile cutter has a similar cutting or scoring wheel. The trick is snapping the tile. A glass cutter doesn't score as deeply as a tile cutter. You can a hand cutter at Home Depot for about $8 - might be a better way to go.

I do both, glass & tile . they both cut & break the same. you can cut ceramics with a glass cutter but don't try to use that cutter on glass again, a pencil is a good idea, Don't stand on it! just press down evenly on both sides. you can also use your hands curl them like fists, thumbs up tile rests on fingers, thumbs on top, just like snapping a pencil.

Yes, then place a pencil under the score, lightly stand on each half of the tile and it should snap along the score.
