I'm talking about players not good enough to get into Cooperstown, but who are local favorites and near-great. Jose Cruz and Larry Dierker of the Astros, Ron Santo of the Cubs, Roger Maris of the Yankees, etc. I can imagine a father taking his son there after the game and telling him about the exploits of players from 20 years ago. This would, of course, include local players who actually made it to Cooperstown.

I'd like to see players individually and officially honored, rather than only be in highlights about team achievements. Fernando Valenzuela, Steve Garvey, and PeeWee Reese (40 year wait for Cooperstown may have been fair, but he should have been in the Dodgers' Hall of Fame right away). Bobby Bonds of the Giants, Terry Pendleton of the Braves, etc.

A very very good important question, every stadium should have a hall of fame gallery.

I think that most teams have something like that - if not a full museum, then at least a memorial park or some displays of the great players from that team.

Sure, but who would represent the Expos/Nationals or the Mariners in their Hall of Fame. Good idea for some teams, not others.

If they were "legends" they should be in a memorial park like in Yankee Stadium. Otherwise people who were just fan favorites but did not come up clutch should not be in it, for they were not too important to the team's success
