British management and brit workers can't work together, brits work better with the nips, look at the crap leyland churned out over the years, it was a luxury item to get a steering wheel!! nips and crouts are the guys for mass car manufacture, people won't agree here but the yanks do a fair job to. I'm afraid we have a bad attitude in many respects.

An American car quite easily be made to conform to EEC regulations, and there are a few US cars sold here but they are often very expensive compared to the price in the US and to be frank, apart from things like Mustangs and Corvettes most American cars simply don't appeal to European tastes.

Oh, yeah? When the shipping company told me my stuff would arrive from Britain 3 months ago, I thought they would have done it in time, but now, the same 3 months later, their "guarantee" of shipping fast has failed. The ship hasn't left the country, and they're making up excuses for it, while my uncle is over there working at the shipping docks and telling me they aren't doing anything that has to do with shipping my stuff (and other people's stuff).
So exporting isn't so great for Plymouth... or Exeter... or Bristol... or London...

I spent 2 years in England, and the Brits are very hard workers, that make good products.

Japense cars have better fuel economy, and are very popular right now.

Japanese have car plants in several nations to better export their products.

Just poor relations in the industrial relations industry.
