I'm sorry, i'm usually good at math, but I htink this is wrong (i tried though).

8x^2+24x+18=
(8x^2)+(24x)+(18)=
50 x^2 + x=

I did this because i figured that you can't add exponents unless its multiplication, so u just add the x to the x^2
then you add the coeficients (8+24+18) and i got 50.

As i said earlier, i bet its wrong, so u should get a second oppinion.

1st factor out GCF of 2
2(4x^2 + 12x +9)
the trinomial is one of those special cases called a perfect square trinomial...it really does help if you memorize that pattern to help you recognize how to factor it...both end terms are perfect square ...and the middle term is the product of what was squared doubled...the pattern is a^2 +2ab+b^2 = (a+b)^2
so 4x^2 + 12x + 9 = (2x +3) because (2x)^2 is 4x^2 and 9 is 3^2 and 2x * 3 = 6x doubled is 12x

so final factored form is 2(2x+3)^2 or 2(2x+3)(2x+3)
