This is a highly contentious issue. We all know that MNCs are abusing the global market. Companies are too focused on maximising profits that they overlook basic universal rights & fundamental freedom. What effective measures and common strategies do you think could be taken to protect human rights? Let me know what you think... :)

Well, it is unfortunate and economically dangerous, but I do not think they can be stopped. You have these companies merging, buying out other companies, and monopolizing their industry. The government loves it because they profit from it also. We are a money driven world. If you have enough money, you can do whatever you want. The FCC already has regulations that are supposed to prevent these MNC's from doing what they are doing. The problem is, these companies have enough money to dodge the FCC and any other regulatory law set forth by any organization.

If there were enough MNCs that were ran by people who did not sacrifice moral fiber or freedom to maximize profits, then they could eventually clean out the industry. Kind of like that metaphor where you have a glass full of mud sitting under a faucet with a steady drip, eventually the mud will filter out an you will be left with clear water. The only problem though, is that usually by the time people reach that level of power, they have become corrupt.

I wish I could have given you more of what you were looking for, but I honestly don't see any viable solution for this problem.

We can't because they can afford the very best justice money can buy. It might sound like I'm being flippant but I'm not. Multi Nat.'s will always be able to find some trade agreement to back them up or just spend you to death in legal costs. They'll throw money into political campaigns to buy legislators and I don't just mean in this country. Only shareholder interest and obscene CEO salaries are important

well... it's hard to protect human rights in other countries... but things could be done domestically...

but the government is in full favor of these types of activities... so that makes things even more difficult...
