I believe that the nature of this site/program is to provide others with "real world" answers. If you have a particularly troubling question or have something life-threatening to ask, maybe this isn't the forum to use! Most of us are lay-people and no, we aren't usually qualified. But I can't think of a better place to ask someone about medication side effects, personal experiences with meds or a particular illness, what they think of a particular computer game, or whatever. It's nice to get an opinion that's not as complicated as a doctor would give. Yes, some people on here are idiots, but many have something to say about their personal experience that can be helpful to the person posing the question.

I often wonder this also! Sometimes I think I would rather get no answers at all than to read totally ridiculous responses from people who obviously have nothing helpful to contribute.I personally don't answer questions if i don't have what i consider a helpful reply, unless of course, I'm trying to be funny. On the other hand I don't get annoyed either when this happens because i realize that this forum is open to all and whatever you get, you get!

Because people get on here and ask them. And some of the people on here actually are educated and have the proper answers, and others have a great knowledge base on things, and still others just have good common sense. And yes, there are the idiots and jokesters. Personally, I come on here to get opinions about things, but I would not let answers on here make life and death decisions for me.

I totally understand. I used this site for the first time today and could not believe how rude people were. It is so horrible how mean people are in the world. I don't believe I'll ever post a question on this site again.

To get the points! What I really want to know is why people ask questions on here when they could very easily search the internet for the answer instead of asking strangers?

I get "suckered" in by the lead question and once I'm there I just give the best answer I know.
The lead questions should be worded better.

to get points!! LOL Seriously I feel like anybody should be able to give thier input or opinion on anything. Freedom of speech freedom of thought. Who are we to judge someone else anyways? We all have flaws, but in the end we are all human

Well, if people are dumb enough to listen to the advice on this site, that's their own fault. The answers on here clearly are not that of professionals.

Because they can! I didn't realize that answering any question in Yahoo Questions was contingent upon knowledge of the subject.
