LOL!
Guinea pigs can NOT be potty trained .

they need to be given good clean bedding, every day '
(clean none treated wood shavings ,
and soft hay) which they will nibble .

Scrub the hutch out once a week

plenty of fresh water to drink at all times

, they do tend to wee in one corner only ,
but they produce lots of clean, hard lozenge shaped poos
all over the place . they are not smelly .

give your piggy, a large clean hutch, with lots of bedding
and a run attached to it for the summer

Guinea pigs are very easy to care for
and very sweet ( a little short in the brain department ;)

They will do anything~~~ for a crispy apple (cut up) or a carrot , they go into Ecstasies if you give them raw beetroot
along with the normal guinea pig feeds ( cereals etc )

.good luck with your piggy ,
even if you will not be able to potty train it,
it will give you lots of pleasure

i wish i could see it , i love guinea pigs .

I have guinea pigs and you can most certainly potty train them. Do not listen to these ppl that say you can't. How I do it....I have one of those small corner litter pans(used for ferrets and the like) and I notice where she likes to potty and place it there (in the cage). Then I remove all bedding and place it in the litter pan. I put no other bedding in the cage bc if I did, she would just use it. Within a week, she was pottying in the litter pan. Makes cleaning alot easier. She has accidents here and there in the cage but the majority of waste is in the litter pan. Keep at it! It can be done!

I have had wiggers all my life and never even heard of training a guinea pig to use a box. In the cage anywhere and while he is out on your lap, every where you don't want it to go but I was told and don't know for sure, that a wigger can't control his bowl movement and if this is true...this makes sense why you won't train them. On the other hand, just because I had Guinea Pigs all my life doesn't mean I've ever tried to train one to a box. I would be curious if there's such a thing or if anyone has trained one to a box because I have one right now. Good luck to you!

I tried to potty train my guinea pigs, too,.... for some reason they like to pee in two areas of their cages.
