truth is there are students that actually attempted the question and is really confused so i give out step by step instructions hoping that they will learn and be able to complete the rest of the hw themselves

unfortunately there are also lazy students that get other ppl to do their hw for them........
the way i see it, i help out whoever i can...if the person im helping was just being lazy, then that person will never learn the material, never to go college and will end up bein homeless.

They asked their parents for help, from what I can remember. When I was in high school, I asked Yahoo Answers for help on my homework sometimes, but I don't post my whole homework assignment onto Yahoo! Answers and wait for the Internet to solve my problems. If you just let other people do your homework you're not learning anything. It's okay to ask for help with one or two problems so you can better understand a concept, but it's not right to ask the Net to do your whole assignment.

I don't think it is a bad thing. #1 the student should realize that not all the answers are correct so they better be careful. #2 what is the difference between yahoo and asking a friend. #3 I doubt anybody could complete an entire HW project just based on yahoo answers

I'm a teacher--high school biology & earth sciences (9-11th grades) and history (mostly ancient history for 10th graders). I give answers that are always true and almost always require a bit more digging to get something of worth to turn in.

It's better that kids come here to find part of the answer then give up or copy from someone else or scribble something worthless. At least if they come here, they're trying.

And maybe they ARE lazy and just want someone else to do their work. From me they get 'C' worthy answers. They've got to do more to flesh it out, you know? I feel fine about what i do here--thanks for asking.

I am in middle school and I do my homework because this year I am going to get on Honor Role. YEAH! It is dumb that people would use Yahoo! Answers. You could not get accurate answers.
By the way, teachers rock because they help me whenI need help. My two team teacher Mr. D and Mrs. K are the best.

I'm a teacher and I sometimes answer questions on here because... if they are on here asking instead of just cheating from a friend, they care. Even if someone gives them the exact answer, hopefully they learn something by writing it down.

in defence of giving the answers to questions
whenever i answer a question. i make sure to give steps for the entire question, and explain it as i go through. even if they dont do the question themselves, hopefully by seeing how its done, and why the answers are the answers, they can learn little bits at a time.

I don't really know. I'm in middle school but I do my homework because I'm not like some one who would jump off a bridge if they told me to.

What I dont understand is why people ask questions that they could get answers to by simply typing the question into a search engine....
