Prophets and messengers are in every country of the world and have always been from the Beginning of Time. I don't mean the wanna' be's either or the "false prophets, " the dreamers or claimers of fame, meaning, they do it for the money or pompous egotistical reasons. If you're interested in finding out more about who they are, try researching ancient prophets, ancient texts--see who wrote them... try your libraries, ask more people to tell you who they revere as prophets, messengers, psychics, etc, etc, etc. Do some honest hard research on this one, as you have too quickly concluded that only perhaps men like Mohammed are spoken to or see outside these "earthly realms." Many in western countries have gifts of intuition, mental telepathy, and abilities of seeing into the future. I personally know many such good, kind folks in America today that speak for God the Mother, as well as God the Father. Don't make the mistake of thinking that God the Father doesn't have a wife. Where do these "messages" of such a nature as the one I just offered you come from, if not from our Heavenly Father? If you remember that intuitive abilities or gifts of Voice are given to those who revere the Truth always, you'll find more and more good people like you, who also can be given pieces of the Truth to share with all life everywhere. You don't have to be highly educated or a Biblical scholar or a seer to recieve and deliver sacred messages. For example, Joan de Arc was a "messenger." She was from France. There were many others like her as well.

God chose a people (and he could have chose any people) to redeem and reveal himself through. He started with Abraham and moved him to the modern day Israel area.
The prophets and such were prophets to THOSE people - and thus were in the same area.
Most people don't think of Christianity as an eastern religion - but it is! Unfortunately it's been a bit westernized.

Since you are talking about Judaism, Christianity and Islam it's obviously because that's where these religions were born.
The prophets/messengers of Buddhism did not live and die in the middle east since Buddhism didn't originate there.

Better weather, virtually assured sunshine. Cheaper cost of living - it just makes sense to the messiah/prophet on a budget to watch the pennies.
