I realize that people are against cloning just to retrieve stem cells, but how can they argue so vehemently about the subject when most do not even fully comprehend it? Stem cells are cells which are unspecialized. That is to say they can develop into any of the 220 different types of cells in your body. Embryonic stem cells can only be found within the first 10 days after fertilization and removing them means immediate death for the embryo. The other type of stem cells, called adult stem cells, exist in everyone, but can only differentiate into certain types of cells. That's right, everyone has stem cells in them, which, by using newly developed techniques, could be cultured to produce living tissue which could be replaced into the body. Stem cells and, obviously, stem cell research can only result in cures for diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and a ton of other of conditions. So why is everyone so against stem cell research when it can only do us good?

As I mentioned earlier, stem cell development DOES NOT necessarily mean killing an embryo.

Ok, please read the whole question and all details. STEM CELL RESEARCH DOES NOT NECESSARILY INVOLVE KILLING EMBRYOES! This is exactly what I mean; people are against something that they do not fully understand themselves!

A lot of people are aginst it, but some have diffrent reasons. Some its a religious. A lot of christians (and other religions) see it as murder which of course is a sin. Others think that will bring more harm then good (i dont get that arguement personaly). Some also fear it will get the ball rolling into unethical science like human cloneing..ext.

Of course the other side to stop and look at is those who are suffering now, and could be givin a new life with stem cell reserch. Im personaly undecided, I dont think we know enough yet to really say weither its right or not.

i personally am very split but however i do know of many reasons why people oppose it. Stem cell research would cause for a dramatic increase in the need of embryos which can be painful and harmful for women it also involves killing of young fertilized eggs and people believe human life is valued at all periods of times

Your answer is within your statement. The fact that most of the stem cells that are used for research are embryonic stem cells is the basis of the opposition.
People that describes themselves as pro-life are against destruction of embryos for ANY reason. To them it is no different than abortion. So theoretically, if you're against abortion then you will be most likely be against stem cell research. Because in their mind the means don't justify the end.

Most think that it is killing the baby. At that stage in my opinion its not a baby yet. But they are just ignorant to the fact that the stem cells can come from different places rather than just embryos.

Ignorance is one, as you say. The "thin end of the wedge" is another.

Perhaps there is also a growing feeling that we shouldn't live forever. We are breaking the natural cycle more and more, eventually there will be a cost.
