Well, we just talked about this in school about sex and this could probably relate to your question: our speaker said that it is probably because some girls or boys don't get enough love at home from their parents or they never get to see their parents and nobody gives them love. It makes them feel good to have someone who finally loves them. Or it could be just to get popular if one girl or boy is the really hot guy or gal in the school, then yea it is probably for show or just popularity.

Because they live each other and it helps the develop relationship skills and learn to handle girls much better
