I had a period on September 21st. I was on the pill but was stupid and forgot to take them for five days towards the end of the second week. I thought it was useless to start taking them again, so I didn't. I oddly started my period right after that, obviously early. It lasted four days, and although shorter, it was pretty normal. This period started on October 12th. Since Oct 22nd I have been feeling nauseous and have been cranky and tired. My breasts are not sore, and they aren't usually on my periods either. I am not worried about being pregnant, but wondering if I could be? I don't want to go out and buy a $10 test if there is no need.

I guess I should have specified that I was married. I forgot to take my pills when my routine was suddenly changed (my work schedule) and I can't keep my legs shut because that probably would be detrimental to our marriage. LOL!
I have never used yahoo answers before and decided to try as I never took any classes in reproductive health being raised in an ultra-conservative religious school. I was hoping someone could give me an honest answer because I don't want to freak my husband out for no reason. Someone suggested I may not be mature enough to have sex, I'm afraid it's a little too late for that! But thanks!!!!!

That is posible. Some of the signs of pregnancy are missed period, fulless or mild ache in your lower abdomen. Feeling tiered, drowsy or faint. And periods of nausia, expecialy in the mornings. These signs can be pregnancy but they can also lead to serious problems. Go to your doctor if you have any of these symptoms.

Either see a doctor or buy a test because you won't know for sure until you do that or have the baby.
If you are on the pill, first of all, it is not 100% effective and to miss four days lessens the effectiveness.
It is possible to be pregnant and have a period but stress and hormone imbalances can also cause the symptoms that are occuring.

1) the pill works by fooling the body into thinking it is pregnant, hence no period until you take the marker pills which contain no hormones, don't take the pills, body doesn't think a pregnancy has started, result period.
2) period 10/12 was only 14 days ago, at this point you should be ovulating and pregnancy would have the potential to occur so no pregnancy as yet possible
3) nausea cannot occur until the pregnancy implants into the uterus and sufficient hormones are produced to generate that nausea
4) the time frame is off here and you really can't be pregnant but hey it's your money if you want to waste it on a test
5) my guess is you WANT to be pregnant or you wouldn't have forgotten the pills and you wouldn't have these psychomatic symptoms at this point in time

As a general rule, if you have to ask if you might be pregnant....You very well might be pregnant. As for not going out and buying a $10.00 test if it's not necessary...it's a lot cheaper than paying for a kid for the rest of your life! Be smart, take a test! And if you can't remember to take the pill for a whole week at a time, maybe you're not responsible enough to be sexually active.

I think you should wait it out a couple more weeks. It may just be stress that is causing you to act this way, but there is no way to make sure unless you take a test and depending on weather or not you used a condom I wouldnt take on unless you had more signs to tell if you are pregnant.
