i knelt in hot asphalt as we were stripping the highways (most painful experience to) then to make it worse I got thermo plastic paint stuck to my finger, quick as a flash the paint was so hot it burnt the flesh down to the bone. the asphalt took off the top layer of skin on my knee but healed much quicker than my finger. get a good topical antibiotic creame for infection and then a good healer like neosporin

as the skin is made up of layers it will slowly within days debrid itself of its outer layers with normal showering and washing, a little rubbing does not hurt but should not be scrubbed. I would consult a dermatologist the best way to avoid this again is protective clothing approved for asaphalt work, although hot it could be beneficial but nature should remove it for you as it does paint. (telephone an ask a nurse hotline, usually through your local hospital (1-800 ask a nurse, I think but check to be sure)

You could try gently rubbing in some butter, wiping off and repeating until all traces are gone.
