you will need lots of patience. my mother in law had these and she got them dressed every 2/3 days at the local doctors. she tried lots of different treatment before she found one that worked. there was honey dressings, flamazene, jelly stuff, maggots to get rid of all the dead skin and infection. she also had antibiotics and painkillers. i think the best thing to do is see your GP who will organise a treatment to suit you and if necessary send you to a skin specialist. hope all goes well.

You need to know what the cause of the leg ulcer is. Venous arterial or a combination of both, also if you have any conditions that slow the healing process such as Diabetes or rheumatoid arthrtis for example.

You should ask for a test for diabetes as a precaution if there are no signs of improvement after a few weeks . however no signs of improvement may mean your not getting the right treatment.

You must insist on an Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) which will help to differentially diagnose venous and arterial disease.

A reading of 1 is classed as normal, less than this a degree of arterial disease, more than this may indicate calcification (hardening of the arteries) but arteriosclerosis and calcification are two different processes which can occur at the same time. This should be treated no less seriously than arteriosclerosis

Venous disease needs compression hosiery, arterial disease may need a vascular surgeon or at least an MRI scan. Your best bet is ask for a referal to you nearest leg ulcer management clinic or if you dont have one in your area ask for a referal to the Podiatry department, they may not deal with legs but should be well clude up on the test. see www.worldwidewounds.com (search for vowden as authors)

Yes, use Aloe Vera Gelly on the ulcers, drink Aloe Vera Gel.

Your skin regenerates every four weeks, so by attacking the ulcers from within AND topically, you will clear them up this way.

Also AVOID anything containing Aspartame. Devils phlegm, that could be agravating it so making it worse.

My dear old Pop had them a while ago. I put him on 1gm of Vit C
Slow release every day, and they cleared up.
Aloe Vera is also great for them. Buy a plant and cut off a leaf . That is much better and cheaper than buying a pot of the stuff.

If it is related to diabetes then you have to get the diabetes under control first. You have to find the reason for the problem then treat the problem.

Your best place to find that is in your physicians office, they could need antibiotics, debriding and close monitoring.
