If you are asking in relation to history, people relocated to have land, to farm to eat, to get a job.In even earlier times indians followed the amimals around until they learned to farm. Don't forget natural disasters, fire, floods, hurricanes, all these are reasons to move.

depends. To be closer to family, or further. I moved away from family, not because I disliked them, because my boyfriend lived far away and we got a place together where he is from :) So depends on the situation and reason.
