You look in the mirror you see what you "saw", you "saw" the table in half, two halfs make a "hole", you climb out of the hole and escape.

The original tale was that he was in a cell with no windows or door and just a table in the cell, how did he get away?. He rubbed his hands on the table until they were sore, sawed the table in half, two halves make a whole, he crawled through the hole, shouted until he was hoarse, jumped on the horse and rode away.
Believe it or not this is a 1940s gag.

Well, one way involves the imagination, where ever you imagine yourself at you are there no matter where your body is. The other, break the mirror on the table, use a shard to cut an artery, bleed to death and let mother nature solve your problem. There is no escape greater than death.

Look in the mirror and see what you saw, take the saw and cut the table in half, the walk out because two halves make a hole.

The person saw their gorgeous self in the mirror. took the solid oak handled saw. Sawed the Solid Pine Wax covered table in half, took those 2ft diameter halfs and put them together and made a fantastic 4ft diameter as much as a circle hole could give, placed it up against the lovely old 17 century castle wall and then lifted her skirt so it was just above the floor and elegantly walked through unscared

Smash the mirror with the table and slash your arms, when the psychiatric workers come to take you to a hospital you're out of the isolation room of the psych hospital. Problem solved.

I can think of two solutions :
1)Well room has no exits, but there can be windows. use table to climb up to window and jump
2) use the same route through you came in. of course you have to go in reverse direction

I've heard this one before.
You look into the mirror to see what you *saw*, then you *saw& the table in half and put it back together to make a *(w)hole*, then you climb through the whole.

Through the looking glass I'd go breaking it with the table first.
