i cant stop!! my nails all hurt real badly from biting them below the nail line...i cant stop. i tried everything my doctor said but its not working!! help!

I have been biting my nails since I was around 5. My nails are short and I have now experienced painful rough patches around my cuticles. I have absolutley tried everything from wrapping my fingers in bandaids to the yucky nail polish ,but guess what after a quick google I found that nail biting is more psychological ,so I suggest getting some emotional help. I have not tried it myself yet ,but I hope I can.

You simply STOP, how hard can it really be?, or everytime you want to bite your nails just remember the filth, germs and all the disgusting stuff that collects under your nails.

Easiest way to stop bitting them-
Keep them out of your mouth.
I've heard you can put hot pepper sauce
on your nails and tip of your fingers.
It sounds like it might work because
it would burn your lips and mouth
if you tried to bite them.

Try drinking milk.Biting nails is a sign of a lack of calcium.It might also be just a habit so try to find a substitute or just cut them.

Put hot tasting stuff on them. That is how I got my dog to stop chewing on the chairs.
