I've had issues with my daughter and pooping from day 1. I asked the pedi about it and she had said the most she had seen was 10 days with no poop she had called childrens hospital on it because she was uncertain about it and the hospital said it was fine that they most they saw was 16 days!!! As long as your baby is showing no signs of discomfort i would think everything was OK.
You could try stimulating there bum with a thermometer with Vaseline on it. Or putting alittle bit of prune juice in a bottle mixed with formula. I would talked to your pedi first before doing a suppo only because it says on the box to consult first.
good luck!

My son was 2 months old and once went 10 days without pooping. He wasn't constipated or grunting or anything. I took him to the doctor (for a regular checkup) and he said after 10 days he would start to worry. The only thing my son had at that point was breast milk. When he did finally poop it was everywhere. Up his back, in his hair. I just threw him in the tub and threw the clothes away. It was gross.

Breastfed or formula fed? Anything besides breastmilk or formula in baby's diet?
It can be normal for a breastfed infant older than 6 weeks to begin to skip days and not have dirty diapers every day. They use up their food so efficiently that there just isn't enough waste for them to need to poop every day. But on the day they do go.....LOOK OUT! Because it's usually a big one!

Not every child has a bowel movement everyday. My son is breastfed & he only has one about every other day. On this day he might have two and not another for 24 - 36 hours. If you are truely concerned take the child to the doctor or call the office. I am sure everything is fine though.

One day is OK. If your baby is constipated for a couple of days and showing signs of discomfort, call your pediatrician and see what they recommend. They could recommend anything from a suppository to an ounce of prune juice mixed in with breast milk or formula. Don't try a home remedy you haven't run past your pediatricians office. You never know and its better to be safe than sorry.
Boy are you in for a surprise when he/she does go. Be prepared for a serious blow out. Mine got me at a couple of weeks. Wow.

It could be constipation. Is the baby breastfed or formula fed? Try giving 1-2 oz of warm peppermint tea. That should do the trick.

Wait until tomorrow - if still nothing then call the doctor and voice your conern. He/she will let you know what you should be doing to help the kid along and return to a normal daily schedule.

Its perfectly fine...sometimes they can go 3 days without going (my son used to do it and we went to the Dr) anything more than 3 days is cause to worry.
