respect mostly,...other reactions: when a bear charges us, we run. If a coyote crosses our path, its trying to tell you something. When an owl visits you, one of your relatives died.

They are our brothers, and share the land with us. We honor their spirits for the assistance they and their earth bodies provide. And we listen to them when they speak to us.

by the way, there were some parts of the buffalo that they didn't actually use.
