I HAVE READ ALL OF THE ABOVE COMMENTS AND HAVE REPORTED ALL OF THEM (well, except for one).
HER STUFF IS NOT CRAP, NOR DOES SHE HAVE A DISEASE OF SOME KIND.
I AM A CRAFTER, LIKE HER, AND KNOW THAT THIS STUFFIS NOT "CRAP" IT IS A GOLDEN-MINE OF CREATIVE OPPORTUNITY.
SHE WAS LOOKING FOR GENUINE, HONEST ANSWERS AND LOOK WHAT SHE GETS!!!!!!!
I HONESTLY CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PEOPLE.

The McDoanld and Happy meal toys should be packed and put away as they will be future collectibles worth money. The rest of the items would probably be welcomed at a day care center, a school, or a sunday school. Kids are always doing projects out of the materials you list. Also keep anything that has to do with the Simpsons. Future money, they are an investment.

I had a similar problem when I was quilting. I would buy fabric just because I liked it, with no idea of what I was going to do with it. I ended up with a closet full of fabric and a lot of guilt for the money I had spent. Every time I looked at it I felt bad. Since my interest in quilting was waning (I tend to get really enthusiastic about something for a while and then lose interest), I sold what I could in a garage sale and gave the rest to charity.

If there are crafts you are really interested in doing, pick out a few things that you KNOW you can use and you have a DEFINITE plan for. Set these aside, label them with what you plan to do with them, and put a DATE that you plan to finish the project (no longer than one year from now).

As for the rest, you could hold a garage sale, give it to charity, sell anything that is worth selling on Ebay, etc. For the toys, you might seek out a battered women's shelter in your area and donate them. They always need toys and books and things for the children to occupy their time while they are in hiding.

Some of the things, like plastic bottle caps, magazine clippings, etc., need to be TRASHED.

If you get the Discovery Home channel on your TV, be sure to watch "neat" with Hellen Buttigieg. http://home.discovery.com/tuneins/neat.html She not only helps people de-clutter their homes, she gets at the root of the problem that created the clutter in the first place. She is sort of an organizer/social worker. Sounds like you might benefit from her advice.

Oh, and those things you have definite projects in mind for? If you haven't finished the project by the date you selected, GET RID OF IT!!!

If you're willing to part with them, why not turn them into care packages of some sort? You could make little goodie bags or boxes and give them to a local school, church, daycare, a child's birthday party, etc.

Ooh...You could bundle them up in some sort of cute halloween way with some candy and hand them out to trick-or-treaters.

Lay everything out and choose your favourite things from the collection. Ask for inspiration and create collectible art made from your separate collectibles. Make it fun.
