I remember both the ABC after-school specials and School House Rock. I learned the preamble to Constitution, what a conjunction is, and lots of educational information from School House Rock.

As a parent, I REALLY miss the days of looking forward to Saturday mornings for cartoons. I hate the fact that you can watch them 24/7! Geez, somethings just need to stay sacred.

I didn't always watch the after school specials, but I loved Schoolhouse Rock. Putting facts to music is a great way to remember them. It's easier to learn a song than a poem for some reason. I learned multiplication before I saw Multiplication Rock, but the songs sure helped me. Three is a Magic Number, Little Twelve Toes, I Got Six, all helped me a lot. I didn't pay a lot of attention to Grammar Rock because I didn't need much help with it, but History Rock taught me the Preamble to the Constitution even though I have to sing it to remember it.

I remember the after school specials...especially the one about teen pregnancy! Yikes...The School House Rocks were awesome...the Preamble, Interplanet Janet, Verbs (that's what's
happening), A noun is a person place or thing,Sufferage,The Shot
heard round the world, Bill...they were really great and taught so much...I can tell you that they are on DVD and they released a CD with all the original songs and then one with some current artists singing their rendition. The DVDs are broken up into history, math, grammar, and so on...

I remember those shows. The other night I was talking to my husband about the old milk commericals. You know the ones were a brace face girl or a skinny boy is looking in the mirror and their older self shows up and says This can be you if you drink your milk, and they drink up their milk.
