Any complications, did it work well, would you do it again...

Most of all, how did it effect you after?

I got the spinal block with Duramorph which is a 24 hr form of morphine. It worked great- I had a c-section. The only complication is that I was slightly itchy for about 6 hours afterwards. I could move my legs soon after and walked in 12 hours. I would do it again.

Just had one 11 weeks ago for an emergency C-Section.

It was fine. I was nervous, though, but they used it because it takes effect faster than an epidural. The only problem I had was I itched like crazy for several hours after, but they gave me medication that took care of it. I also got the chills from the morphine, but it wasn't hideous.

The pain was bearable for about 24 hours, but, trust me, take the other meds when offered (like percocet), because it's pretty bad once it starts to wear off. I tried to be a trooper, but looking back, that was dumb.

I was told that there are a few more risks of spinal damage, but the doctor said they are minimal, and they will know right away if you are having a problem. Just remember, they do this stuff every day.

I had a spinal when I had a c-section 3 months ago, but it wasn't morphine. I have an intolerance for morphine (makes me vomit) and I can't remember what they used. Anyways, it worked really well and I didn't feel a thing. I was completely numb from my chest down. It was probably 2-3 hours before I could even move my toes a little bit, but everything went very well.

I had a morphine spinal block with both of my c-sections. I obviously didn't feel any of the surgery but I also didn't regain feeling in my legs and feet for about 12 hours post surgery. Went well no problems, just a backache and sore shoulder afterwards.

I had a spinal block. I don't know what kind it was, but it worked great. I'd have it all over again, yes. I got a little sick after it was all over, but other than that there were no problems.
