Okay...being an honors student I'm a bit biased, but at 15 I'd go to bed at 9:00 and get all the sleep I can, because I stay up to midnight doing homework...on a long vacation though, 10:30 doesn't sound bad for an average time. Sure, on some days I'd want to stay up for longer, but I wouldn't do it on a consistent basis.

I'm a mum of a 14 year old, he goes to bed at 10.30 during the holidays, but if he has someone over or it's some kind of family occassion, then he can stay up to the wee hours of the morning. It's just to hard getting him back into routine if I let him stay up all night. And I'm not having him get into the habit of being a bludger and sleeping in till noon everyday.
Make the most of the day, start doing something earlier in the, its still going to be just as long, you just wake up earlier than if you went to be late!!

My son is 14 next month, he's just got in to bed, it is now 10:41.
Your mum sounds pretty sensible to me.
PS He had a friend round for a sleepover at the weekend. I think they went to bed at about 2:30, but that was a one off.

1. you were probably getting on her nerves
2. if you were quiet in your room, she'd probably forget about you.
3. if this is the worst you have to complain about your mum...count your blessings and go to bed!

I stay up until I'm tiered on school holidays, try convincing her that she should let you stay up when you're not in school.
