depends on if it is something that you HAVE to drink. If you are enjoying it you would probably think, "wow, that delicious drink is half gone already", whereas if it was something yucky, you would be dreading the half that is left!

It is not a brain teaser, it is a psychological test. Psychologists (before it became a commonly known trial) would place a cup with water in front of a person and ask what they saw. If the person replied a glass half full of water, it was ascertained they were more likely to look to the upside of things and possibilities. If the person replied a glass with water half gone, it was ascertained they were more likely to see the limitations in life and less likely to take chances.

The cup is ALWAYS half full. ONE simple fact: it's still got liquid in it. And nothing can ever be half empty if it already has something in it.
Also, the saying about it being an optimistic/pestimistic thing is just another way of looking at the question at hand. Kinda like an old wives' tale. This however is based on feelings and not on fact.
In mathematics this is the set which CONTAINS NO ELEMENTS.
EMPTY, VACANT, BLANK, VOID, VACUOUS

If you're a protagonist the cup is half full. If you're an antagonist the cup is half empty. For me, the cup needs to be filled again to become full.

Depends on my frame of mind at the time! Today it's half empty.

It all depends on its initial filling...if it was full and went down to half way then its is half empty, and if you only filled it up to half way then its half full.
