Hmmm...

I used to teach genetics, and this is one I came up with for students to understand the terminology. A Chromosome is made up of many strings of DNA. DNA is like a street, a GENE is a LOCATION on that street, and an ALLELE is what would be LOCATED at that position. Hope that helps.
