Seeing as how you never owned a slave, there is no reason for you to feel guilty. Even if you did give an apology to someone for the attrocities of your ancestors, it wouldn't do any good, as you weren't the one responsible and the person you'd apologized to never suffered at the hands of your ancestors.

Because you're still enjoying many of the fruits of those ill gotton gains and because you know that most of the advantages that accrue to you today just for being white (which can be summed up as the advantage of NOT having to face any significant discrimination that limits your life chances) are the result of all those terrible things your ancestors and recent relatives did. After all, Jim Crow ended within many of our parents' lifetimes, so it's not really just a question of ancestors. Many of the racist laws and policies that a majority of whites actively supported and defended ended only after a heck of a fight in the '60's and 70's. That's not sooooo long ago. In generational terms, that's yesterday.

I read the comments about Race and racism so much, I cant be bothered with it anymore, seeing that everyone was eventually a "Victim" in one way or another, black people because of ancestral reasons and white people too, eventually everyone whatever the race becomes a vicim of it because of the backlash and tensions that past events have caused and the fact that those old tensions, like some kind of "haunting", still sweep around the world today!

To be honest, it wasn't very almost slavery. Segregation and the civil rights stream interior the Sixties is "incredibly" cutting-edge, seeing as how many human beings alive immediately lived and experienced that. yet yeah, it is stressful while Libs (and the media), of their paranoid act as a sufferer kinda way, pretend the entire Repub. party = accomplice flag waving southern hick racists and are "out to get minorities." This fuels their demonization of persons and sophistication warfare. isn't it ironic that the 1st black president (who gained decidedly in his first election), performed type warfare and fueled the race debate, yet his mere presence interior the white house is the living evidence of ways a procedures u . s . of america has come so a procedures as race is worried.

Whether you realize it or not, you are still living the advantages that were obtained in an immoral way by your ancestors. whether you are living on land that was 'stolen' from indians or taken by violence or whether your parents had educational, social and economic advantages that blacks' parents and grandparents did not have. Everyone knows that parents provide for their children. And so the issue is not gone. yes, you are reaping the advantages still of the stolen labor (slavery) etc. because the fortunes made by white people and families were kept by those families. The past changes things.

I dont feel guilty about anything to do with history because I was not there and have nothing to do with it!What I dont always understand is when SOME (not all) black people want to be angry at whites because of history. If thats the case there shoulod be alot of angry women because women were slaves alot longer than blacks!

You must have some guilt about something or this would not be an issue for you!
I can't feel guilty for something that happened before I was born.
I feel sadness and pity but I do not feel guilt!

What are you on about?
Anyway I wanna know why isn't slave history taught in the US. We learned it in the Bahamas, and it wasn't to make the white Bahamians feel bad, its a major part of our history.
The US never taught it. Never taught the significance of it. Should white people feel guilty...NO. BUT, America became rich off the backs of slaves why not teach that. What are you trying to hide?
America is SOOOO DUMB SOMETIMES IT HURTS.
History is our friend, not our enemy.
