ok forget about michael and celebrity that spoke with backing from the left. im not making any accusation in this question, written or implied.

if a message was given to the public, with backing from a political party (ANY party), from someone who is sick/disabled, and that message contained incorrect or untrue information, does he have the right to be corrected?

if a message was given to the public, with backing from a political party (ANY party), from someone who is sick/disabled and who *intentionally* stated false information, does he have the right to be criticized?

That depends on who makes the incorrect misleading statements. Democrats LOVE their double standards.

Martyr/victims
Democrats/Liberals - how can you attack them, haven't they suffered enough, I hope you someday are stricken with this terrible disease or lose your son in an immoral illegal war (e.g. Cindy Sheehan, Michael J Fox)
Republicans/Conservatives - can't think of any examples because Republicans don't seek out victims to do their political handiwork

Drug/alcohol addiction
Democrats/Liberals - they are not responsible for their actions, its a disease (e.g. Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte)
Republicans/Conservatives - sick twisted racist bigots knew exactly what they were saying and doing (e.g. Mel Gibson, Rush Limbaugh)

Gay/Pedophile
Democrats/Liberals - they are deserving of their civil rights, being persecuted by homophobes, and have every right to their personal choice in lifestyle, even though they didn't choose to be gay they were born that way (e.g. Barney Frank, Gary Studds)
Republicans/Conservatives - sick twisted criminals should be locked up and throw away the key (e.g. Mark Foley)

Black Conservatives/Republicans
Democrats/Liberals - routinely throw racial slurs, calling them Uncle Toms, sellouts, tokens, throwing oreos at them, etc. (e.g. Michael Steele, Condi Rice, Bill Cosby)
Republicans/Conservatives - no denigration of Black Democrats because they are democrats

I find it very interesting that you say "does he have the right to be corrected," rather than "do people have the right to correct him." You also say "does he have the right to be criticized," rather than "do people have the right to criticize him."

It is possible that you have some confusion about the nature of rights versus responsibilities. Yes, we have the right to criticize and correct someone who tells an untruth, whether intentionally or not. He has the RESPONSIBILITY to accept that correction and criticism with good manners. A politician is responsible for the accuracy of what he says, and the party's backing only makes it worse, as those errors are now imputed to the Party, as well.

And you are right that which party is involved is irrelevant; rights and responsibilities go with citizenship, not with the particular party label.

If it is the way you say it then of course you can rebut it, but you are going after Michael J Fox.. If you had a sickness or was disabled and you knew there was a cure or something that might help thousands of people, and somebody had a moral issue with the solution and was stopping it, would you not want to fight and do anything you could to get the cure? You can Rebut anything, just take your heart out of it and use your head when you do it..

Yes... and since you are obviously talking about Michael J. Fox I'd like to add that he didn't say anything that was intentionally false much less anything that wasn't true.

If you'd kindly post the intentionally false parts of Fox's political commercial then I'll gladly join you right-wingers in critisizing him... I've seen the spot and while it contains a lot of OPINION it doesn't contain anything that is factually incorrect.

first off you are talking about Micheal J. Fox and you know it you are now in fact trying to justify your hero Rush's being a Pig because that would mean you have been getting your info and belief system from a PIG. You know it I know it and everyone who reads your question knows it and to attempt to justify something so low just shows how truly LOW you are. There was no false info given by MJF and that also is something you know, thus you make this a "hypothetical" question, who did this first , Rush , Hannity, or O'rielly before you played parrot and posted it here?

You are being distracted from the main point, which is that stem cell research is important because it could help people like Michael. There are millions of people suffering with horrible diseases like his--one of my best friends is dying from Parkinson's Disease and if there is any hope that stem cell research can help him and others like him, then by God, use it!!!

If members of particular churches disapprove of stem cell research, this is a free country and they should be 100 % free to not use any medical treatments they disapprove of. But by God they have NO right to force their religion on anybody else, and it is obscenely anti Christian of them to illegally abuse the political system to do so--especially when their tax exemptions are based on staying non political.

I hope you never get a disease like Parkinson's, but if God forbid you do, I hope that medical research based on stem cell research is available to help you. Enjoy your good health while you have it because it will leave you some day.

I think you probably mean:
"does he have the responsibility of being corrected."

The accuser has the "right" to accuse... The person who is being accused has the right to defend himself.

Your logic may be superior, but your sentence structure is not.

Polarizing questions like this are what's dividing America instead of strengthening it.

Hell yes.M.J.F is not immunized from criticism just because he is a "victim". Sounds like it is right out of the Cindy Sheehan playbook.
