I did feeling that it was a much healthier alternative to pop. Also, caffinated drinks are difficult to come off of cold turkey, so you have to "wean" yourself. My OB agreed. There are some problems though. First you should heed previous advice and stay away from herbal tea. Some additives can cause you to go into labor. Also, drinking a lot of tea can cause kidney stones if you are prone and can mess with your body's ability to utilize iron. This is much needed in pregnancy, espically in the second trimester. I was told that if I kept it to one or two glasses a day and drank a lot of water I would be ok. I did fine and my son did ok too.

I have drank iced tea through my entire pregnancy and have had no problems at all and they think my son is going to be around 9 lbs. I am 38 weeks and i have also drank green tea i only drink diet and make sure it is either caffeine free or has a VERY minute amount of caffeine. Most all teas will have a caffeine gauge somewhere on the bottle or box. Tea is much better than drinking sugary sodas all the time. I also drink alot of flavored water but none of these new ones with added caffeine or odd ingredients for fitness. Enjoy your tea guilt free hun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes u can drink iced tea orange or black peoke which are the most common teas used are fine during pregnancy. Make sure that your tea does not contain raspberry leaf, which can cause miscarriage or premature labor. its also good to cut down on the caffine or do away with it all together. I know its hard but try to eat the best u can and those little treats once in a while wont hurt you or baby one bit! Good luck and congrats!

I don't see why your couldn't drink it. I have had 2 different OB/GYNs, and none of them had a problem with iced tea. It is better than soda or coffee. As for the chocolate, studies have shown that women who eat a little chocolate daily have babies that are calmer. Just remember that the darker the chocolate, the better it is for you.

Most ice tea has as much if not more caffiene than coffe and sodas. It dehydrates you badly. Try drinking decaf or an iced fruity tea instead.

No. Because it has caffeine and caffeine can cause miscarriages and other problems. You should avoid coffee, espresso, tea, iced tea, cola, soda, and chocolate for this reason.

Yes, just make sure you limit yourself because of the caffeine in it. Or try decaf tea.
