The new rules are totally changing the way that the game is played and it sucks. The only upside to it is that smaller people can now play but if I had it my way it should be kept the Way that it was. They draw penalties for everything now, I liked it much more when they could play rough and get away with it that is what hockey was all about.

yes i have been for a long time. first when they had the foot in the crease rule but that only lasted one year, and yes Brett Hull's foot was in the crease before the puck was in the crease and the Sabres where cheated by this rule and the rule was gone the next year.allot of the rules had change cause it was hard to get fans from Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina, phoenix, Anaheim and some other teams which hockey is not big and to bring in the crowd they needed to find a way to score more goals cause if you look at all other American sports their not really any defence, but hockey is a team sport. i know you are a Canes fan and you might know the game more then other in Carolina, but their is still allot of work to be done in those city's even when they won the cup like the Canes and TB. nobody in the southern part of the U.S is giving hockey a chance they rather play a boring PGA tournament then playing the NHL playoffs and that's whats hurting are game we love so much. Gary Bettman moved to fast and he has hurt the game and didn't help it one bit. 2 lockouts and the hockey world doesn't like the guy he should resin and a real person that knows the game like a Canadian and will make hockey what it should be and if it doesn't work out in the southern parts get the teams the hell out of there NOW.

So far the rules that they have made have changed the NHL for the better. But if they continue changing and makeing rules it will become bland. They should sit back and watch for a while and then start makeing changes after that.

At first yes, but it sure has sped up the game and there is some amazing scoring going on as well as great goal tending. Hockey is all about skating, only the good skaters can hang now.

I think it's more exciting now. The game is often faster, and people have to do something with their brains, instead of the old "dump and chase" method. There are more goals. Of course they are calling everything, so there aren't quite so many fisty cuffs on the ice.

For sure, it seems all they do is pick on the goalies , they want bigger nets and smaller pads. They think that the people want lots of goals, but hockey is also about great saves.

I think the game is great the way it is right now. The shootouts are awesome and it is fine the way it is. If they make the new bigger nets or those ugly goalie jerseys then we have a problem.
