Our original constitution only guarenteed freedoms for adult caucasian males. The amendments granted rights to native americans, blacks and others, then finally women. Pretty well addresses everyone now, though some like to group themselves separately and say they are persecuted.
Congress certainly does not follow the constitution; based on the funding they provide to everyone and everything to pay back favors and contributions. The constitution only provides that the federal government will provide for the general welfare of the people, so special projects such as museums and bridges to nowhere, should be unconstitutional, as would foreign aid or grants to foreign students to study here.

You will never erase racism. Blacks are just as racist towards whites, and gays are just as critical and outspoken towards straights, etc., etc., etc. I don't think I've ever heard a white person say those who are not white don't deserve any freedoms (although I'm sure there are bigots out there who believe that). I think most people feel they should be judged equally upon their merits and their own individuality and intellect. That is what the Constitution is about. It's about providing an even playing field, not subsidising this group or that, or tearing down any group either. I myself am ashamed that an American would say what you allege was told you, because that is not America.

The question is a non sequitur.
The principles of the Constitution have to do with the government's role and obligations and limitations.
It has not word one of any responsibilities and duties of a citizen. We're not obligated to do anything, none of the principles apply to Free people.
There's not a single obligation of any individual in it, and the only restrictions on individuals are minimum ages to serve in selected offices, and being natural born to be President.
You don't have to be white.
You don't have to believe in God.
You don't have to work nine to five.
You don't have to love your neighbor.
You don't have to be straight.
You don't have to salute anyone or anything.
The principles of the Constitution are to limit government, not to limit people. There's nothing in it for people to live up to or violate.

Well I am not racist or anything but I do agree with you that there are a lot of racist people out there. However as for the Constitution I completely condemn it because it was written by people that were at the time partly racist so my position on it is that the people that run there lives by it and are not racist are good people however I don't think they understand that the Constitution was derived from people that were racist and sexist themselves.

I think individual Americans live up to the Constitution everyday.
I think your view on who deserves freedom is your own and not all Americans.

I wonder how many Americans know or care what is written in the Constitution.
In a way, I think our system is much more rational. We don't have a constitution.
