Actaully Dreft can be irritating to some baby's. I've always used Tide with no fabric softeners (they can also irritate).
Go ahead and wash them now while you can enjoy the thrill of such tiny beautiful clothes. Once the baby's here, you'll be too tired and then they'll be drooling and it won't be exciting any more.

You can do it whenever you feel like it. As long as they are in a dresser, or put away somewhere, that is fine. The later you wait, the less energy you have to do it anyway.

I used Dreft for the first few months, then switched to ALL Free and Clear. I use that for the entire family. It's easier than having to buy two different detergents and it is safe for babies.

Best to use Dreft for newborns and just test a few pieces of clothing before washing everything in the ALL.

My daughter was fine with the ALL right away, but my son had a little reaction early on to it and I bought Dreft and he was fine. I am planning to switch his clothes over to ALL next month.

Wash them anytime now. You won't have the time or energy after the baby comes, and you probably won't have as much energy the longer you wait.

I'd say start out with ALL Free & Clear. It's cheaper than Dreft and has less chemicals.

Dreft or Ivory, any gentle soap will do. Do it before the baby comes, get all ready, because you are going to be very busy. I know we had so many outfits that the baby never even got to wear some of them. I should have changed his outfit with every diaper change, which was quite often! Then we may have used all the clothes.

Dreft or Ivory is just fine. Wash you babies clothes if you want, better to do it when you feel good than if your baby comes early and you have to do it when you don't.

I would do it now, before the baby comes and you have not ime for anything except feeding and changong diapers. ALL free and clear or Dreft are good detergent choices.

Do it now girl, get yourself organized and ready to roll. Don't want to have a list of things that need to still be done after the baby comes. Cause you'll have bigger things to take care of and dead tired on top of that.

I'm opting for ALL free and clear. Still its less chemicals than the baby detergents, fragrant free-some little ones can be allergic. Seems to be the way everyone is going these days. Even my mother bought some for me...and said that she wished they had products like this when us kids were babies.

You can wash them now if you want.

You don't have to use a special baby detergent. Anything that is free of dyes and perfumes is fine. I would suggest NOT using fabric softener. I always heard that this was what more babies had problems with.

You can prepare your babys clothes when ever your ready. If you have larger clothes you will be saving I would either hang them or put them into a plastic storage bin.
As far as soap, use what your cofortable with. I have always used TIDE. I wait for coupons and sales so it just as cheap as the other brands.

Why not wash them now? It will give you something to do. You don't want to have to deal with laundry toward the very, very end of your pregnancy, and you won't have time to do it once you bring the little one home.

For detergent, ALL Free & Clear is just as good and way less expensive.
